I checked in with him a bunch of times and he would tell me he had a motor coming, or was building one or whatever. I said I would keep checking in as I had cash ready to go, but I would need to rent a truck to come get it. Finally got close and he said he had one I could get a week later, so I reserved my truck and all that. Called him up before heading out, and - no motor. His answer was that I should have given him say $2,000 as a deposit and about what he told me? He said "I tell a lot of people a lot of things, money talks." LOL. Cross that one off the list... I eventually bought a short-block from Toyota, and had my head rebuilt. This was to replace a PAE 2.3L stroker that lasted 8k miles (not the motor's fault).

For awesome work in the Toyota world, I would go to none other than Su from Aggressive Performance in San Jose. I hope he is still around. Totally awesome guy, great prices, and always willing to help get your car going. I took my '02 MR2 Spyder to him for a tranny swap and a clutch job. At the time he was swapping an ST185 drivetrain into a Camry All-Trac, which is totally bad-***.
I dealt with Su as well. Long story short, Su was the first person I went to and he had the car for 2 years before it went to Josh's. I am not going into details. Personally, I have nothing against either of them, but professionally of of them can use help

I don't think I seen more polarizing and different person to person experiences than with these two shops. Just my $0.02 from my observations.

I've heard good things about Su at Aggressive Performance, but I am done with Toyota's. I'll just stick with my Subaru. It's gotten me this far.

Never dealing with Josh again. Never dealing with any shops my Toyota friends recommend. The MR2 has really left a bad taste in my mouth.

I used to hate this too but BMW has an M-Sport line which badges a lot of regular 1/3/5/6/7/X series interior and exterior bits with an M badge. M is becoming a brand not so much a type of car these days, similar to WRX owners buying STi parts and badging.

PS: I hate ricers period, doesn't matter what make and model.

Kinda like the F sport through Lexus.
I typically don't like owners of BMW's in general, 9/10 they're d bags.

Same with Audi with S-line. Seems like all the car makes with performance based models are doing this to reach every market. It's a good and bad thing.

If I put 100k into my car... it wouldn't be sitting in my garage as an expensive paperweight. I am going to beat the crap out of it and get my money's worth.

I'm embarrassed that there's so much hate - especially from such a large group of posers...

...who can stand around at meets and talk about how awesome their car is, how much horsepower it has, but is afraid to drive it further than the next town over for any reason.

When I moved back to Northern California, people would actually get out and DRIVE, not whine about putting 50 miles on their car.

I always find it funny, I go out to meets and drive 80-100 miles round trip to hang out. I have no problem doing so. It really is funny to hear some people talk about all their parts etc and when you ask oh what do you do? their reply of derp I don't know what you're referring to is hilarious. "Go big or go home?" usually those people go big and stay home LOL

My buddy wants to build this bad *** widebody kit for his car and super modify it and I am like... why? Pretty much wants to dump six figures in it so it can be a glorified garage queen...
