The san jose snowsports expo will be @the downtown convention center fr: fri, nov 12 thru sun, nov 14. In the past several years, a company called BEWI put on the expo. This year it'll probably be a bit diff. since a new company will be bringing us the Bay Area Snow Show to kick start the '04-'05 season!

It's been a cool way to get some early/late season lift ticket vouchers for about 10 bux! Me & some buddies are planning on going to the expo on fri evening and gettting hooked up w/ vouchers so we can hit the slopes the following day. The forecast calls for snow tonite thru late wed, and then more precip. by election day! If we continue to average one storm(lasting a day or two) a week, we should have more than enuff resorts to choose fr: by sat the 13th.

I am considering going...only issue with me is that I am still suppose to be on crutches. Crutches at an expo....no good.

I can walk ok but my therapist said two things to me last night. Walk LESS..use crutches MORE.

but he also said something else that's even more important...that I am advancing quickly...so I am on track to ride maybe by christmas..YEAH...YEAH....YEAH>>>>>>>>

 

Good luck OneMan! Hope you have a speedy recovery. My buddy is three months into a broken leg/tore up ankle, and I just got the cast off my wrist last week. Already got my Sugarbowl season pass though and am headed up this weekend which means no expo for me. I've got all my gear sorted out already though, so it's no big deal.

I got my board situation dealt with. But I need some pants and a jacket badly. I bought my jacket back in like 97..haaa.... and my pants barely made it one season..haa. tore up. Could use boots too but screw it..I'll probably just toss some duct tape on my pants. Deal with the boots and buy a jacket....

you coming to the BAIC ski trip....I'm figuring if nobody does it before me I am going to plan one out for like Mid February.

Awesome news that your knee is coming along! Bionic OMA! Yeah, i guess it would be a bit of a struggle @the expo w/ da crutches. Have you been to this expo in the past? It may be a li'l diff. this year since a new Co. has taken over. I'm hitting it up on Fri evening in hopes of getting hooked up w/ a ticket to ride sugar bowl or kirkwood on sat! hells yeah!!!

I'll PM ya if they've got any real deals on gear we couldn't get @Mel Cotton's on any other day. No reason to trouble yourself on the same ol'-same ol' if it is like the years past!

btw, i recall you mentioning that your bro got a job @Bear Valley. is this true?

you can get doscounted admission tickets for the expo at Mel Cottons. i think they are $2 cheaper or something.

 

I'll probably be coming to the BAIC ski trip. I'm seriously shooting for 50+ days this year, so I'll probably be up there anyways I haven't had any reason to get a season pass the past few years 'cause I haven't had a place to stay. That's all over now, and this'll be the first year I'll be able to get more than 10 days since I moved back from Colorado in '01. STOKED!!!

Again, I really hope you heal well and can get back out there ASAP .

bah...my freaking bro wussed out on me. Said he didn't think his car could hang with the snow. Has one of the biggest POS you've ever seen. So he said next year he's going to because he should have his jeep by then. He's going to lay Tile instead... exciting isn't it.

As for the expo. yeah I've been to a few of those in the past. I did some rep work for a company at the san jose one a couple years ago and I've been to the big one in anaheim a few times to. Actually dropped in on the 11 foot half pipe they had there. not pretty..haaa. I had a buddy that was kind of pro in skating and snowboarding and was a pretty famous DJ out of New Mexico. DVS. and I was on a proform deal with a couple companies for a while. So I've done the tour..haa.

But they are fun. You get the free lift ticket. Get to check out some of the new gear. And just talk shop with other snowboarders.

I am mostly off the crutches...use them for longer walks because it helps my walking form.
