Well first of all Zoeb what deck do you have? Second wher are your rca's running from out of the deck right no more converter right! Next did you put a CAP on your amp because you showed me one did you use it if not then use it. If your rca's are running on the same side of your power wire then sometimes that may cause it but not to likely. Answer these and I will see if not call me @ B.B. ext 41 car audio install.

peace out bro! Miguel 'DWNSHFT'

I've got a question for you too Miguel. I am thinking hard about getting the stealth woofers in the panels under the rear windows of my GM6. Assuming I get the work done at BB (you are at the one in Fairfield right?) what specific components would you recommend? I don't need super-ultra-jammy bass, just more than I could get out of 6x9s and the weak stock under-seat mounted one. I really prefer name brands, but I also don't want to cut into my go-fast budget. Did I make it hard enough?

Also, is that your wagon with the big AF logo? Hard to imagine it's some other guy located at Travis with a dark wagon who works on stereos, but hey, never know... haha. Props to the pride, I know the feeling- I was an Army wrench turner on M1 tanks not long ago.

Hello, without actually testing your componets it will be very hard to do anything but guess at your problem and more information would be helpfull (What brands and models of equiptment your using and a basic description of your install). But heres a very educated guess. First off, check the RCA cable and make sure that it's not pinched or shorted to ground or that the shield is "Open" meaning that it is not cut. If you are using the preamp outputs from your head unit (This is the best way when everything is working right) then it sounds as though you may have taken out the ground trace for the rca's or in english, the rca cables may have touched a bare 12v + wire either in the front or in the back of the car. When this happens it usually means that the radio needs to go in for repair. There is however a "Cheat" that will usually "Fix" the problem. Most car audio shops and even RadioShack sell inline RCA noise filters that use transformers to isolate the groud loop you just created. one of these in line will usually help (Radioshack cat # 270-054 for $14.99). If you are using the speaker level out into a Hi-Lo converter then you hopefully/probably have a bad Hi-Lo. If this is the case then run an RCA cable and call it a day. Remember these are only educated guesses, I would recomend having a good shop in your area look at your problem. I doubt it would take more then a half hour to diagnose and my shop would charge you about $25.00
Good Luck

I have the Kenwood Z919 MP3 deck..it worked fine in my BMW w/o a 'thump' and I had the same amp hooked up to it...and yes I did take out the converter and the RCA's are running from the back of the deck...I didn't put that cap in yet though.

Thanks a lot for your help.
