Attn: Energy Drink Drinkers....q's

I am a designer and we are picking up an energy drink contract.

I wondering what you guys like most about an energy drink container...what catches your attention. We have a difference of opinion in the office at the moment. I start the design as soon as the bid is signed. soon hopefully.

Maybe drop some links to your favorite designs....

We're going to probably pitch 3 designs. One will be based off my boss' vision. One will probably be purely off my ideas. And another on group ideas. All done by me most likely. input.

Unusual can shape (tall skinny), is a must for energy drinks.

I like RedBull because of the racing sponsorships and their clean graphics.

I don't like Monster whatever because it seems too "extreme" generation x "I rock out and I don't care about anything else"- also, I get an 'energy crash' from Monster about a hour after I drink one.

:brutale_smilies010:
^ look, I used one of these for no real reason!

Definately go with something unique. I would love to see a drink that came in a beer stein, I think you would have a winnar there.

is it a high caffeine drink like redline? or something more along the lines of redbull/amp? how many different sizes are you gonna have? if its one of the high caffeine drinks go for something in a metal/aluminum can, with a twist off. id go for a modern/contemporary looking bottle. squared with slightly rounded edges.

if its in a modern can it will probably grab the eye of the consumer more so than the same looking tall skinny cans.

also keep the graphics simple. i dont want to go cross-eyes looking at it.

i would say a unique shape.. when things have unique shapes i ALWAYS buy into the marketing and buy 1..

maybe a ball... with a spout.. like imagine a ball with a soda bottle cap on it.. so its a ball with a way to drink from it.. that'd be kinda cool.

Put it in a clear capri sun style container and call it an 'iv' (as in what u get @ the hospital) of said energy drink. I always joke that i need an IV of coffee.

Although i don't know if it would be possible to do this with a carbonated drink.

I would make it in the shape of a bullet that can either be consumed or fired from a real gun. Just a thought.

can shape is pretty much set at a standard 16oz can size. Like rockstar. They don't have the budget to be doing custom cans like that.

So can shape aside. I'm thinking of something organic. Solid colors. Tonal graphics and what not. Still have to get the energy part through though...errrr.
