AR question... can anyone help?
hey guys i posted on calguns but i'm not getting much of a response...
I just bought a gas block and tube for my AR build today. i put them together and i noticed that the gas block port hole and gas tube port hole doesn't line up all the way... about 90% of the hole on the gas tube is visible from the gas block. is this okay? thanks!
oh! and does anyone have an AR tools that they can lend me? or let me come over to use? THANKS! i'll bring beer =)

if 90% of the hole is exposed, then 10% is going back to the gas tube to work the bolt...
i think that you wont have enough power to make the action...
you pin the gas block already? can you just drive the pins back out, and redo?
btw, what your username on CGN?

OP didn't say whether he's pinning or using set screws to secure the gas block. From the sounds of it, the tube and gas block are definitely out of alignment.
Anyways, we used a jig to install the gas block on my buddy's SPR. Get a spare gas block and drill all the way through from the bottom. Put it on the barrel and line up the gas port in your new hole on the top of the gas block. Use the forward set screw to hold it in place and use the rear hole as a jig to drill the detent for the rear set screw.

if 90% of the hole is exposed then wouldn't that mean 90% of the gas would be going to the tube?
