My mistake was I saw web server, but thought 'media server'. A workmate of mine bought the previous Apple TV because it was cheaper than a Mac Mini. He modded the software and HD to use it as a media server.

I have an appleTV, used at home mostly for airplay to watch random youtube on tv when friends are over. I also plan to integrate it into my photography business to livestream photo slideshows to a tv/projector. <3 the small form factor.
For movies, I use a HTPC to play 1080p mkv's on the living room tv.
