Question Apple TV

Anyone using Apple TV? I've been thinking about getting one just because it's so cheap and I like the idea of what it can do. It would be for the bedroom. The main benefit is being able to stream to/from all my devices.

Is the price justified considering I already have a PS3 and Xbox that can both do Netflix?

QCC?

I have one and like it. Whatever audio/video is in iTunes, streams wirelessly to the TV. I also rent redbox movies and rip them with handbrake to apple tv format, building my digital collection. For a hundred bucks it's worth it.

The only downside is raw uncompressed 1080p is slow loading (hd home movies shot with canon t2i)720p content however is fast and looks great (Netflix, trailers, iTunes rentals).

With it jailbroken you can run plex(or other home media software) and watch movies at 1080p(wired 1gb connection) but it tends to struggle a bit during playback.
From the factor it only runs 720p.
For the bedroom i think it would be ok. It's small and takes little space.
IF you could, wait for the apple tv 3 which is rumored to have the dual core chipset and be able to run 1080p better.

After you're done playing with it you could install a distro of linux on it and use it as a webserver (that's what i'm going to do with it)

My other alternative is to build another media server, but that's dollar intensive. I don't know.

Are you sure this works with ATV2? IIRC, unlike the previous model, it doesn't have a hard disk.
