Don't try to BS in the interview -- if you don't know, say so, but also don't just shrug and give up. Try to work through the issue and think out loud while you do it.

Also, don't be expecting lots of weird riddle questions. That's often reported but not actually encouraged these days.

Not really any such thing as a word in the right ear, either. The whole process is reviewed six ways from Sunday so that it doesn't come down to the recommendations of one person, for or against.

(This is just me talking, not official. But I do work for Google, and I have gone through the interviewer training.)
Agree with this 100%. It's always best to be very honest about your capabilities and not try to BS, because a lot of times, they'll go further into questions based on your answers.

The riddles and whatnot that were made popular by the investment banks are actively discouraged these days, afaik.

I don't work at Google, but have interviewed there, and we have similar hiring guidelines.

I'm not a Googler, but work with the company a lot as a vendor, and with a lot of their vendors... so I know a lot about how things are structured.

I'm the Regional Sales & Marketing Manager for Enterprise Commercial Truck

Awesome guys!

I'm nervous but excited at the same time. I just found out today that my old boss, who I keep in contact with, actually worked with One Work Place before on a previous clients job. So I think I have an "in", hopefully.

How'd the process go for you? I just got the pre-screening phone call today.

It was actually really simple. Just one basic interview, and I got the job. But it's with One WorkPlace who is considered a vendor there. So I'm not an actual Google employee, but I get a few of the perks, which is quite honestly, good enough for me.

The campus is pretty amazing. There is so much there. And so many people.

And a TON of hot women. I wish I could talk to them all! LOL!!!

i had a friend go through the process and ended up not geting the job. we know why, and he was TOO honest and couldnt recover.

possibly look at firefighter interview type questions. they tend to be VERY open ended, and suck you into being overly comfy with your answers. my buddy and i went through his last interview and we pinpointed the wrong answer. sort of a "negative-to-positive" type question. he had a friend in Google who recruited him, and he admitted "we weed out a ton of bad apples, but we also send a ton of good people away as well. but we always get good people out of the process...."

i am not being negative. the point is be yourself, but be on your toes. everyones experience is somewhat different with their process. study yourself, and practice "being on your toes" so to speak.

BEST of luck!!! what a GREAT opportunity...

I'm actually surprised not many here work there. I see a ton of Subies. A lot of stock, but I see some modded ones as well.
