Exclamation Anyone Want a Unique Subaru?

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/2285002165.html

Subaru brought some RHD wagons over for use by the Postal Service. They are very rare to see for sale. They were all white with gray/black interior. Would make a good candidate for a unique turbo swap.

Someone get it! As tempted as I am I just don't have the resources right now.

Edit: It looks like they were available in three colors. Neat!

Yeah, who is this 'we'?

Yes, parts are available. These things are super rare. I've actually only worked on one in my life.

I called him... He's in Vallejo and works for the postal service... $2500 for a RHD subie that "needs a tune up" and "has a small dent that has been painted over and not that noticeable". The car has 245k on it, not 200k.

Just remember that you can get an RS for this price.

Automatic. They all were. It isn't really the mileage/engine/trans that should be the main attraction. The main attraction is a factory RHD car that is ripe for a swap.

Oh, I fully understand and I'm just sayin that $2500 is a lot for a chassis that has been driven for 240k+ miles

Not really. They're durable. That's exactly why the rural carriers used them.

What would be really slick would be to do a replica Subaru recce car.

Dammit... now I'm thinking about it.

Nah.... I like it white. But no way am I gonna pay extra for RHD. I'd pay like $1500 for that car and only if it's had the head gasket replaced already.

It'd be sick to make into a race car... But most people don't have that kind of cash sitting around, especially for a 1993 (with 245k and dent) $2500 shell.
