The cops already know that switching happens. This has been done forever (car odometers, drivers at the DMV, fixits, whatever). For minor stuff, I don't think they really care. Obviously, if you get caught doing a switch, that's a different matter.

 

If the fix it or whatever system is really that dumb, power to ya. lol

 

Do you honestly think cops are that dumb? Of course they know people pull this isht.

 

Some cops don't care if you fix it at all or not. For me when I got mines the cop, while waiting inside the police station. Cop comes out get a pen and says "Hmmm you probably changed it" then signs. I guess they will check for more serious matters.

I got a no front plate fixit many years ago. when I went to get it signed off, the cop didn't even come out to see my car. He just asked if i put the plate back on, i said yes, and he signed his name on the dotted line...

 

My neighbor signs off any fix it tickets. I just pay him in beer.

Ah... yes. I am afraid they CAN be just that 'dumb' (it's more like 'lazy'). I had a buddy with the exact Saab, but no tint. Must have cleared at least a half dozen tickets just that way in L.A.. Silly, but true.

Far safer to just pull the tint on the driver's and passenger's windows. Sign it off and go get them re-tinted!

I also use velcro and phony heads of screws for front plate violations. Get the ticket, slap on the plate... sign it off 10 minutes later @ the donut shop & flip it back in the trunk!
