They are located in San Carlos, so you're best off just picking up the lens from them (has to be picked up by the credit card holder). Their service is excellent, I love using them! Also, one of the members on here works there.
I've never had an issue in the 6 or 7 times I've used them, and I have no intention of ceasing my relationship with them.

They do sell used gear from time to time Preston. Ive gotten an email before when they had sale and when browsing their site noticed one or two things were for sale.
Ive used borrowlenses before and the service is great. Last time I rented a lens, CF card and a CP filter (think it was a Hoya, not sure). The CF card failed big time almost losing hours of shooting at a Redline Time Attack race. Also the CP filter didn't polarize at all. Not sure if its the manufactures fault (which I believe) or if the filter had gone bad. Other than those two issues, never had a problem before. Lenses are in pretty good shape, others probably in better condition that others. The lenses I have rented have been in ok/good shape.

If you want to come pick it up from us we can get it ready for you the same day. Other then that we can ship it ground(which is basically overnight since your in San Jose) to your house. That or we can ship it to Foto Express in San Jose where you can pick it up and drop it back off with them and they take care of shipping it back to us. If you plan on renting from us send me a PM and I'll take care of you. Like Matt says you won't be upset

Sounds good to hear all of this gives me a bit more confidence when renting then. San Carlos might be a bit too far to drive to pick it up so i might just opt for shipping either to my house or to foto express. In two weeks or so i will definetely pm you leftcoast

OMG Emergency BBQ. It's been a while.
Anyway, Borrowlenses is fantastic - I have been a customer since they were in Burlingame. The last lens I rented for a two week trip to NYC and it worked out pretty awesome. I also want that 16-35 to replace my 17-40 but ironically need to sell a set of rims first.
