Question Anyone travel on JetBlue before? I have a few questions...

So I'm about to take a flight from Oakland to New York City in a few days, but i'm wondering about a few things:

1. If i take BART to Oakland airport, is there an easily located shuttle that runs to and fro?

2. When I sit down in my seat on the plane, how do I plug in my mp3 player or laptop? ie. what kind of power outlets are available at my seat? (like the cigarette lighter adapter in my car?). Oh, I have an Apple Powerbook if that matters.

1) Air Bart runs from the Coliseum BART station.
2) No power outlets. Don't know of any airline that does this except first class on some of the international ones like Singapore and Virgin Atlantic.

airbart runs every 20 minutes or so and costs $2. you can pay cash (exact change only) or you can use a bart ticket (again, no change given). it pulls up right outside the station and you can't miss it. at the airport it is pretty easy to find the stop especially since you get out the same place you get on, so just remember where it stopped when you get off it.

Airliners use a different kind of power adapter. Like they use a different kind of headphone plug. Just to be different. I have Kensington power adapter for my laptop (iBook) that has the airline connector and the car one, I think this is the current version:

http://us.kensington.com/html/6328.html

But JetBlue apparently has no power ports on any of their planes.

http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Jet...irbus_A320.php
http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Jet...mbraer_190.php

USAirlines does have power outlets in coach on some planes, but I never fly on that airline.

And you now know everything you need to know about the airbart shuttle, but:

http://www.bart.gov/guide/airport/oak.asp

I've never had to wait 10 minutes for one to show up, it seems like there is always one at the BART station, often two. Unless you show up before 5am for an early flight . . . but then there are taxis waiting for the fools like me that didn't check the schedule.

Jetblue > All other airlines except Aloha. I did the redeye from Oak to JFK a year or so ago on Jetblue. It was chill. Just watched satalite tv (on all the seats) and zoned out for a while. +1 for Breakfast of krispe kremes in the airport.

I took that red eye once...man what a pain, get there at like ~6 in the morning. I went with my gf and we were roughing it somewhat, so we stayed in the airport till there was daylight before we ventured our way into the subway system :P

If you can't sleep there is plenty of movies and satellite tv. At least you chose the right airline. I flew on northwest a couple of weeks ago to wisconsin, well it was to minneaoplis first, for 3 hours, they give you one beverage service, no snacks, no entertainment.

JetBlue, however, give you all the snacking and beveraging you want along with some tv/movies to watch.

Yep Air Bart takes you into the airport, cost $2, runs every 10 or 15 minutes, check the schedule, I think it stops at a certain time. Since you're taking a red eye, you might arrive to the airport pretty late. NM NM, see link above, goes till midnight. Good to know
