Anyone In San Jose With Obd Reader??

i need someone who has an OBD reader that can help me out today asap!!!

i just installed a Cobb uppipe on my 07 wrx, and i got these weird gaskets from remflex (www.remflex.com) and they say if you crush them to over 50% of its size its useless. my friends helped me install it and they crushed it as thin as the stock gasket. now i think i have a leak from where the uppipe and the turbo meets. i dont have full boost but it still drives ok. i drove it from san francisco to san jose with no problem. today i went to the dealership to pick up new gaskets and on my way back i got a CEL and my cruise light is flashing. does anyone know what this means? need car fixed asap before i go to work tomorrow. maybe as a last resort is anyone in san jose willing to let me use your garage for a few hours and has knowledge or experience working on the uppipe. ill provide beer and pizza! or if anyone knows a really cheap shop that could get it done today.

Yeah too bad you were not closer otherwise I could pull that code for you..

I've gotten the "CEL w/ Flashing Cruise Light" once and it was boost spike. Did the car seem to cut off fuel?

Anyhow, I am sure the same symptoms happen to several other codes. But as a last resort, hit up an Auto Zone. They will let you use their scanner for free and pull the code then run a search on it.

Good Luck~!

you have to deposit 190 bucks. and you have to keep that code reader for the whole day. then you can get your 190 bucks back..

WHAT! no way? I've read codes from them hella times, about a few years back when I had my nissan. All I did was give them my L's, walked outside , pulled the code, and then return inside to the shop.

Wow when did they start to change?

alright, downsti was nice enough to meet me up and use his obd reader. turns out i have a p0137 code. the reader said bank 1, low volts. i did some research and found out that p0137 is for the rear o2 sensor. which confuses me cause i didnt even mess with that at all. i only touched the o2 sensor in the front, the one on the exhaust manifold.

yeah that is odd but the code is for the rear 02 and from what I've read it is either not reading, aka faulty/bad, or has bad wiring.

What are your mods? Do you have a downpipe at all??

no i dont have a downpipe at all. only thing i did to the exhaust was unbolt it from the midpipe to the muffler and put washers there and rebolt it. all i have for engine work is the uppipe and snorkul removal

I don't know what your "L's" are but I've always either given them my license and go to the parking lot and pull the code or they put ~$190 on my card, I go out and pull the code, go back inside and they refund the charge. I've never heard of that "one day" crap

L's= license and that's exactly what I would do. I guess some folks take the scanner for a day.

I may have read this incorrectly but u r saying u put washers in between the mid pipe and muffler?

Correct me if I am wrong but that could cause the o2 to read incorreclty. If I have this pictured right, u created an exhaust leak??

yeah thats correct, but ive had this "mod" for a very long time with no problems. its just for noise purposes. sounds like an aftermarket exhaust.

and to speed element, i didnt not completely take the downpipe off the car, i unbolted it from the midpipe and the turbo, but i let it sit there on blocks of wood so it wouldnt hang on the sensor and so i didnt need to unplug it.
