If you got the message, that means the registration is closed for the day and you'll have to try another time.

See the thing is...when the invite button is there that usually means that the regsitration is open and Google will allow you to register.

I can send you an invite anytime through the loophole but that doesn't mean that when you get the invite, registration is going to be open.

Seems like Google has been opening it up during the evening hours (~6-7PM). I invited a few of my friends yesterday via the invite button method and it seems like there's a lag/delay to receive it.

Also, check out this link when you hear that Google+ is open. Might be a good idea to check it early evening tomorrow:
