the big drums are 50 gal. drums. there is a union 76 on Almaden Expressway here in San Jose that has 100 or 101 in the pumps all the time.
for the *really* good stuff, you have to hit Sears Point, they've got like 118 at the pumps there, but it's like $9.75/Gallon. that stuff kills brain cells just filling the tank!

Also, the 76 station on Woodside Road across from the Jack in the Box in Redwood City also has 100 octane pump gas on pumps 5 and 6 for $4.20 a gallon.
Another thing, don't put anything at Sears Point over 100 octane in your car if you are running catalytic convertors. They offer 104, 110, and 118 octane, but it is LEADED, I repeat LEADED, and it will destroy your cats.

I think that 76 down in San Jose is much cheaper. I paid only 3.70 a gallon down there. Maybe it's gone up, but not that much. That was at the peak of the gas gouge...
i dunno the prices of other places out there but its a hassle for people up here to drive to san jo to get some gas. so its more of a convenient factor. and also he said he will price match

76 has a 800 # you can call for locations and were you can drive up and pump. Although higher octane isn't going to make that much difference. If you were running a normaly aspirated motor with high compression then the higher octane would alow you to run a greater timming curve. Sti 2.5 if you run more boost you'll notice some difference but not enough for most guys who drive the street. If you plan on racing and dump the cats then you'll run more boost and a higher octane gas like 104. For the majority don't pay the extra. A smiple additive will do when you need it and you can keep the cats..

Just a note that another "local" source for the 5 gallon drums of 100+ octane is at Dreamlot in Mountain View. I THINK that their price for 100 octane is $20 for the 5 gallon drum, but I'll emphasize that I am NOT sure on that one!
