Anyone know anything about carlifts? Need advice
Me and a few buddies are thinking of chipping in for a carlift. We figure around 500 bucks each between the 5 of us.
Now I read in the most recent issue of Grassroots(not sure I think it was this mag) about low and middle rise lifts for 1500-3000 dollars.
For those of you who have home lifts, can you guys recommend one for me, like do's don't, warnings/cautions, maybe pics to your setup and links to websites?
Much appreciated!

From what I have heard, they violate a whole bunch of building codes if installed in a residential home.
Just dig a whole in the ground and drive your car over it.

Floor surface is what kept us from putting in a lift at the place where I do all of my work. For the ben-wil side loader we needed 7+ inches of graded concrete. We couldn't verify the depth nor the stability of the slab so had to forego the whole idea.

We have both styles that have been mentioned so far at my school, and either way, if you've lowered your car you might not be able to get on the lift. One student had to remove his entire body kit in order to do an alignment on his Integra. Make sure theres some kind of warrenty, because we almost always have a rack that doesn't work right. The most common problems I see is the two sides getting un-leveled, that is to say they are crooked.

Also, I've heard that you can only use electronic lifts now?
