Go on pirate4x4 and talk to sillyneck, he has the jig, might not charge you much. Without the jig you won't get them in right, don't try to rig it, just have it done right.

That's why I don't want to do it myself, first off I'm not that good, second off I don't have the tools to do it right.

wait... why would you need a jig on a spring hanger, if it's there already?

(<--- coil springer....)

Leaf spring hangers, besides you would need a jig to rig in a coil mount, to keep it on plane with the axle.

Suspension stuff you don't want to eyeball, its got to be dead on or it causes massive problems down the road for you.

Pretty much any pro welding shop in the bay area is gonna charge ~$100/hour.
You should ask yourself:
Do I really want "some guy" doing a cheap weld job on the suspension that is gonna keep you alive at 70MPH on the freeway
It sucks dude - but you get what you pay for

If it were up to me, I'd make damn sure everything was 100% prepped, then have someone weld it professionally since I don't own a machine. Less prep work makes the the welder happy, and in turn will take less time and $$$.

Either pay a professional to do the whole thing, or do all the prep and get someone with at least a 200 amp wire feed to lay the beads.

Goodluck

I'm doing a spring swap. I found a guy (thanks Overbear) to do the welding for 20 bucks, but have to cut off the old hangers and prep it and then get it to Sacramento... unfortunately that's not going to work out because I don't have a trailer or a tow rig.
