Anyone know of any decent paint shops?

I'm looking to paint my 05 Wrx. I will be doing the Subaru Lighting Red (I think that's the name) preferably in southbay and under 2k.

Decent paint shop and the dollar price of under $2000 for a color change do not exist.

If you do all the sanding, prep, tape yourself then you can get a good paint job for under $2000. If you were doing it the same color it already is and they just have to scuff it and shoot it they you could be talking $2-3000.

Color change and good quality... $4500.

trunk/door jambs, under hood, etc. That isht costs money.

+1

quality aint cheap. i recently got my sti scoop, sti wing, side skirts, rear spats painted for 400. and the quality shows. theres even (slide?) marks on the paint. very clear they rushed trhe job and placed a fan way too close to the wet paint. meh

With paint you get EXACTLY what you pay for. I would honestly put cost closer to $6K for a color change

For a quality job you're pretty spot on. Even more depending on some color choices.

When I quoted mine out a couple years ago the price I got was $4500 but it was also from a guy I know. So that tells you something right there. LOL!

I'm shooting my caddy myself with some buddies and even doing it that way it's gonna end up running me close to $1000... maybe $1200.

Bar none best paint shop I know of is RJs in Pleasanton on old Santa Rita road. Awesome dudes, and any given day they have a few M3's out front fresh out of paint. Check em out. I'm across the street from their shop at least 5 nights out of the week and they are some stand up guys.

Pretty sure they also sponsor wheel dude as well?
Not sure though

Norcal or Martys Chop Shop in Campbell. Tell them you were reffered by a friend online and see what they offer you. Norcal does a lot of low riders and carshow type of cars and Martys does good work for the price.

You may end up paying more in the long run if you purchase your paint and mix it yourself. Then bring it to a shop. They may not be used to shooting that product and may not warranty it. Unless you're shooting it yourself or doing all the prep work yourself and having it shot by a buddy or a body shop guy on the side kind of deal (no warranty, low cost) then I'd let the pros handle it.

If you want a quality paint job with a color change you're talking $4-6k. Easy.

Ask shagg how much it cost to shoot his wagon. That'll give you a good idea of what you're looking at.

Quality stuff, look for Johnny, not cheap, but they are good at helping you work in your budget range. They are located in San Bruno, near SFO.
