Anyone hit up kirkwood recently?

Went this weekend, sunday they opened the wall as welll as having cornice open. The wall had like a foot of powder but insanely hard slippery snow underneath so it was like powder until u turned to hard and you could feel it was a little sketchy. Saw an sti monday in the lot but didn't ride beceause wall/corniec were shutdown due to wind? Did they ever open on monday?

Anyone else go up?

Jumped off a cliff (thanks to my buddies advice) and landed on a fatass rock which majorly jacked my knee cause of the hard impact. Any advice on a fast heal? still hurts a fair amm. when I put all my weight on the 1 leg. Can't run etc..

I was there on sunday also, Rode untill about noon. I think I left before they opened up the wall. There seems to still be alot of exposure, I got a few good scratches in my board.

I went up there this past friday, and they only had 2 lifts running. It was pretty icy, but still fun.

I was at Northstar all weekend. They only had 3 lifts running. Saturday afternoon got dumped on which gave it a a few good inches of fresh powder. There was only 1 park open. Overall, it was pretty icy out there. It got pretty boring running the same few runs over and over during a 2 day period. Hopefully January will give more snow and allow resorts to open up 100%.

Good thing I put new tires on my STI. Lots of chain checks out there cause of black ice.

Was at Kirkwood on Sunday, didn't know they were going to open up the backside, although it sounds like it was fairly crappy. Everything else on the mountain seemed pretty well covered because of the recent storms, but you could still find a hidden rock here and there.

slow04, may want to get that knee checked out if it doesn't get better in a few days. Doesn't sound like you tore anything, but you never know...

Advil and ice for the knee.
Kirkwood is awesome on a powder day. The gullies are like natural half pipes!

yea it was just the wall that opened no backside ie. sunrise etc....

the backside always takes forever man, but when its open it's like nothing else. So nice to just have all that mass terrain without tons of people. Thanks, ya i've been wearing a knee brace etc and it feels like its slowly getting better, definitely feels a lot better than the first night after it happened. Guess in a week ill go to doctor if it's not fully better

F*ck did Tahoe SUCK!!! Mon Tue Wed (18 19 20)
Monday Heavenly i didnt think 5 lifts on CA side meant basically 1 run!

I dont think i rode between but a few trees, Icy crests unpredictable, ski patrol pulled me over for passing people and hitting hips on the hillside " i dont want to take any more kids to the hospital today" ---> well get them the **** off the blue square run

Then i did east gunbarrel once, woww what a waste of energy that was. I want my $64 back. Oh yeah did i metion 10' degrees plus snowy wind!?!

Dont bother with Tahoe anyone thats too lazy to research like me, but my friend went to kirkwood last week and said it was "alright" maybe the way the sun hits the mountain? idk

I was at KW on Mon. Sucked ballzack. Wind was whipping like crazy, any snow they had blew off the Mtn. Closed runs were fun. There were a few fresh stashes in the trees. I did see a WRB STi in the lot right on the main drag.
