yaa i'm with daniel on this one.. even expired seats are still safer than replicas coz they're still the real deal

although my racetech is on the lower end, it's still fia approved and pretty "affordable"

I would just be on the lookout for a good used seat. That's what I did. I actually found a brand new cobra seat for under $300 shipped. Best money I ever spent and my favorite mod thus far!

^^^ Wow, that's really cheap snowflake!

In regards to being the best mod, I agree 100%. Upgrading your seat is BY FAR the best mod you can do for your car. The stock seats are very generic and are made for the average person in America, so if your body type is anything but average (like me, 6'6" and 230lbs) the stock seats feel like CRAP to you. Buying a specific seat that fits your specifically (like a glove) is the best mod you can really do for the car... It will make the car handle better because it will be easier to drive since you wont be sliding around or holding on to the steering wheel for lateral support and it will keep you in one place thanks to it's beefy bottom and top bolsters to where you can focus on the road rather than straining to hold on from sliding around, etc.

The stock seats didn't only lack lateral bolsters, but the stock seats also sat WAAAAY too high to where I felt like I was driving a pickup truck! The SPARCO seat I have now sits waaaaaay lower and hugs my upper and lower body with it's aggressive bolstering.(with custom modified Recaro bases thanks to GST motorsports, who can fab up anything you need for a seat base). Below is a pic of the EVO 2 I have, and I've also included a video that I made about the seat for you to see (video of the seat installed in my 2007 STi)

I agree 100% with you Dan, and I also agree about the best mod to your car being a new seat!

just the name alone discourages me from getting this seat. if you follow Formula 1 you will understand why.

Ya, I was skeptical at first, but it was a pretty good speed shop (for muscle cars) and it was going out of business so the guy was trying to clear everything out. Picked it up cheap as it was once of the last ones. Had all the papers and was good quality and definitely not fake. Then mounted it up to a $100 Bride rail.

I completely agree that you should not invest money into something that may kill you.
