I know i know... i wanted a V1, but after reading a bunch of reviews and tests, the X50 actually performs better in real life situations
I've used my V1 in the "real life" situations for the past 2 yrs and it's never failed me. It has probably saved me a few dozen times easily on 101 and 5 going to Socal. 
The V1 tells me where the cop is AND how many there are.

had my v1 for a couple years now and it has never failed. i don't know how one lives without arrows. Without them you are just stuck not knowing where its coming from.
the arrrows are definately worth $100 on their own.

The V1 has failed my cousin once, but I would still choose the V1 over everything else.

why the crap haven't they made a V2 yet? Been out for like 3 years or more. Old technology. Still better than everyone else but damn...come on people. For $400 I want new tech.

ahhh....well then.
I guess as long as they are upgrading it's all good then.
I'll have to look into the new upgrades.
I do a lot of highway driving. Was blasting down 101 today at about 90 most of the time when the road was open. quarter tank of gas go bye bye.
edit...oh...and if the website is right it looks like the last major upgrade before this one was 02...so I guess I was kinda right..haa. I'm a tool.
