Its time to get my car smogged. Does anyone have a stock exhaust laying around I can borrow or they want to sell me?? I need the whole back minus the downpipe. Thanks guys

U should pass smog with ur stock dp, cat-back shouldn't be a problem ~

 

you/anyone know this from experience? the stock dp will pass the sniff test?

 

Of course a stock TBE will pass the sniff test....its the stock system, its required to.

 

I think what the other poster meant is that with an aftermarket cat-back, and the stock DP, you can pass. I've heard of people passing the sniffer test with a catless up-pipe, stock down-pipe, and aftermarket cat-back. This can pass the sniffer test but if they tech cares about his job, it wont pass the visual test.

What do you have? WRX, RS, or STi? I have my stock WRX down-pipe.....actually stock everything exhaust wise

 

You won't need a stock cat back to pass. You just need the stock dp or a catted dp to pass. My Perrin catted passed smog with 3'' catback and catless uppipe.

 

your tech must not have cared about the visual inspection because you're not allowed to touch the cats

 

hey thanks fot your pm MBasile. I have a 05 WRX with a 01 OBS shell. i have a HKS UP wrapped with a Taipan/Vishnu Twin Tip Exhaust. I do have the Stock dp so if that works, imma give that a try. I know someone in the city that will turn the other cheek when it comes to the visual, but my exhaust looks pretty stock anyway.
