of course they wont, statistics show owners of 45 series tires or lower are more likely to commit a crime.

If you are near Fremont/Milpitas/San Jose I highly recommend Auto Innovations. Talk to Steve or Orlando, they are both great guys and will get you a fair price and do awesome work.

$60 is fair, especially for the bay area shops that try to charge you at least $100
Have you ever mounted/balanced a full set of wheels?

If you have old/moderately new equipment it does take some time, especially with one person doing it. Also with performance tires that have a low profile sidewall it takes a lot of effort to get those on without scratching an expensive wheel.

Those with new equipment can get the job done quicker and with less risk of damaging a wheel. Downside is the newest equipment costs a lot so shops still charge the same as they have to cover the cost of the machine.

You always talk this big game and bad mouth others but half the time you have no idea what you are talking about.

I watch my friends do it and sure doesnt look like $100 worth of work.

I'm fine with shops charging silicon valley people $130 to mt some tires on a Mercedes but when it comes to helping $truggling people out, seems like its hard to find a break.

I think the shops trying to cover a $2000 machine is the least of their worries. It pays for itself in a few weeks and last a few years technology wise, and will physically last a lot longer than that.

I only bad mouth ricers and people who race in a straight line

Bump!!

I have a set of bare 2000 RS wheels and looking to get my RS2's (215/45/16) mounted & balanced on them. Don't need the wheels mounted on my car just yet though.

The place I've been going for the past 3 years that normally gives me a good price tried to charge me 2X what I have normally been paying them so I said F that and left.

This thread is a couple years old but maybe ppl have some new hookups now. Lemme know!

More like 30 min from where I am in Newark, trust me.. I drive down that way all the time on my way to to Roosevelt skatepark.

Sweet deal though for people nearby it. May have to make my friends sit with wheels & tires on them in my car next time I head down to the park.
