Anyone have a CEL/OBDII scanner on the Peninsula?

My A4 threw a CEL, and its not producing boost over 1psi, or vacuum under a few Hg. I think it may be the cat is clogged ( not a lot of airflow from tailpipe ) as it has 126k miles on its original cat. I hear no vacuum leaks anywhere, so I think this is it, but I wanna make sure.

Anyone near San Mateo have one I can borrow?

you can use one for free at any autozone. You just exchange them your drivers license and pull the codes and get your ID back.

Rau,
I have the Vagcom cable and shareware software on my laptop as well as a regular OBDII scanner. I can scan it for you later this week. I'd try seeing if anyone on Audizine.com is able to help you if you are in a rush. Usually they are pretty helpful.

My local autozones said they stopped doing this. I tried calling two different locations and both said the same thing.

You can stop by my house in Los Altos - I have just a regular OBDII. PM/IM if interested.

These can read the codes without any updates? How do we know if it has support for our cars or not?

"All other Asian and European '96 - Current Year" Check?

I'll probably end up picking this one up unless someone has other cheap alternatives (<$60).. I don't work on my car enough to warrant a $200 one or have the cash flow for it

I use a very, very similar one almost every day and it's never not been able to find me a code.
