Lol..ya i tried to do that. One problem, im the only person she knows with a stick and theres NO WAY shes dropping my tranny or setting my cluch on fire. Better off just letting her get the AT, besides she not going to be lineing up with any SRT-4's anytime soon

If you're persistent, you can find a rental car company that rents manuals. They're not common, but that's how my brother and sister learned how to drive stick, I think it was a Hertz in San Leandro, but that was almost 10 years ago.
Girl's can handle learning a stick better than you think.
No seriously. Here's a tip I learned and also used to teach: have them get get the car rolling in first without using the gas pedal at all. If they can get that down, which they will eventually, the rest is easy.

You can pay a driving instructor about 50 dollars an hour to teach your gf stick. They provide the car too.
1-2 hours should be all she needs to get good enough to be able to drive stick.

i taught my wife / gf then how to drive a stick... i think this really helped her...
i had her feel the clutch in neutral first... feel the engagement point... did that for like 15 minutes or so. then had her feel the throttle and hold at low rpm... 1.5k then 2k for another 15 minutes or so. then i let her start driving. after that she was fine... wasn't very smooth in the beginning but didn't stall either.

Aw, how serious are you guys? I mean, I don't know, a few stalls/slight burning of clutch won't be too bad. You should definitely teach her, it's fun! I taught my gf in my STi..even before she ever drove any car when she had her permit. Of course this was in a parking lot.
haha i like how this forum went from buying an AT to teach your girlfriend. Anyways, I do support the idea of teaching you girlfriend instead of an AT, but some girls just prefer to drive an AT. Right now I believe the 04' are going for about 13k? and 02' are about 11K?
FYI... my car lived when I taught my gf.
