Anyone got a hook up at Best Buy or Audio Shop?

Hey guys, just seeing if anybody has a hook up at Best Buy before I plunk down money for new car audio equipment (since there is usually a huge margin on all car audio equipment).

I just need a monoblock amp to power my 10" subwoofer and a set of wires (12 gauge or 14 gauge).

I need it pretty soon too, latest being Thursday. Anyone? Please let me know, I'm interested in getting the Alpine MRP-M450 (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1134701297803)

Or this one, the Kenwood amp (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1099388637322)

Thanks!

I thought about that, but I already have a 2 channel amp (non bridigble), and I honestly am not going to get a second amp So I think a monoblock is the way to go for me.

ucbsti: I'm considering it if I can't get another amp asap, lol. I'll let you know, thanks for the heads up

sure that amp an bridgeable?

you can also run off the right channel + and left channel - for a summed mono signal...

I thought about that too, but I don't think it's giving my sub enough wattage (I'm a super newb when it comes to stereo equipment, I only know how to hook up the wires, all other numbers don't really make sense to me).

I figure I'd get myself a new amp anyway instead of guessing if the amp is working efficiently, hehe.

I'm definitely sure the one I have can't be bridged. I tried to put the - to - ends together and the + to + ends together and then to the sub, and the red light on the amp came on (it's usually green, pretty sure it's a power saving / safety device).

try just hooking up the sub.

the + of the sub to the right channel + post.

and - of the sub to the left channel - post...

see if you get a red light.

if not, turn off, then connect the right channel speaker to the correct posts, turn on and re check. if green, try the left one.

btw, what amp is it?

I have Crunch USA amp, it's probably not suited for my applications. It's a two channel 400watt amp, but I'm going to venture a guess that it's 200watts per channel at peak.

ldivinag: I tried that too, didn't work
