I don't like to talk about what I saw, but I can tell you it seems real to me, and I was not the only person at home who saw it.

Lots of people have claimed to have seen ghosts

Let me ask you this: Have you ever seen a naked ghost?
Probably not, most people report ghosts being clothed.

For arguments' sake let's say that a ghost is the spiritual essence of a now deceased being.
At what point to someone's clothes become spiritual? What about the clothing has a connection to the afterlife?
Why don't we see Ghosts laying in spectre-hospital beds or watching spectre TV's?

when you dream are you naked? Dress has a lot to do with the individuals perception of self. If the "spirit" or soul of a person stayed behind as a ghost it is perfectly reasonable to assume that, as a projection of their former self, they would manifest themselves in an appearance similar to the one they had in real life.

just food for thought. i dont believe it ghosts, but i'm just saying that a clothed ghost is no less plausible (in my opinion, more so) than a naked one.

I've seen them a handful of times and I used to be one of those people who was like "right you're crazy"... That all changed after one morning.

Cliff notes: Saw this ghost, or what ever you want to call it, of this girl. She was just standing there, not looking at me or anything but was there for a good 30 seconds or more. I even woke up my GF and told her to look, she freaked the **** out and would not. Then poof she went away.

I spent the next week just completely crazed over what I saw. It was strange too because I was not scared or anything like that. I was so focused and interested in why she was there, what was the point, what is this thing, and ghost/Energy? I mean I racked my mind for hours trying to figure her out. To this day I've never seen her but I hope to get more encounters.

I've had a few more but none were as vibrant as the girl. Some are less defined or a silhouette. Oh another interesting portion, was the color.. almost this purple/blues tint. I cant describe it but it was strange. Never seen that before.

Some history of where I live is needed to.

I live in a 100+ bldg that has very strange "activity" far as ghost/energy is concerned.

Example, I started to do some talking around my bldg. Turns out I met this new neighbor who just moved in and he asks me if this bldg is haunted. I just smirked and he goes into a story about seeing this guy, describes him from top to bottom. Gives him this nick name and explains what he does and how often he sees this ghost.

My jaw dropped because right before talking to him, like maybe a week before, my friend is telling me about this guy ghost she see's in her place. She explained him to a T as to what this guy was saying. I almost fell over.. and this was BEFORE i've seen anything here.

So they both describe the same guy, looks, how he acts, and what he does.

Now to one that up another new person moves in, starts talking about the vibe in the place, and He too starts describing this ghost to a T.

Interesting fact: they all live on the same floor. And all three do not know each other/talk

There are several other stories of ghost being seen in my bldg. After all it is over 100 years old and a California land mark...

At my grandmas house we can all be sitting in the den with the tv on.

Their back door is locked and there is a screen door latched shut infront of the door. It can be a really nice sunny day with ZERO wind, and we will hear someone knocking on the back door.

Screen door is shut, but the backdoor is knocking.

Also when I was little and i would wake up in the middle of the night at my grandparents to go to the bathroom, i would have to walk down a semi long hallway. It was creepy because as im walking down the hallway, it sounded like someone was walking in the attic above me just a few steps back. When i would stop, there would be one more step from above then it would stop. If i continued, it would continue after i started.

My uncle, who i was named after, died in that house before I was born. My family thinks its my uncle just hangin around.

I was about 12 or 13 and chillin downstairs watching TV. It was about 10 pm and everybody was upstairs getting ready to sleep and I started walking upstairs to go to my room. I turned off the TV and lights downstairs and walked up and my dad was laying down on his bed watching TV. He was positioned so he can see anybody coming up the stairs and he was facing the door.

So I head to my room and I had to pass my dads door to get to my room. My window blinds were open and you can see the silhouette of the house behind us in the distance. So as I pass my dads door I start walking into my room. The silhouette in the background was shedding enough light and as I entered my room through the doors I saw a dark shadow pass in front of me. I kid you not I stopped dead in my tracks.

Usually when something scary happens I tend to find an excuse as the reason. I stood there and the shadow passed me and out my room. I walk backwards to my dad who could see me. And I said "Did you see" and he cut me off saying yeah I saw it. We were talking about the dark shadowy thing. Scared the hell out of me. Other than that a few times I've been in another persons house and felt a presence watching me.

It's a good story because it's a true story, although I didn't mean to give anyone nightmares over it!

Besides irrational x's rational(! ) post, I'd also like to add that there have been reports of ghosts going about mundane business like that which you described: lying in bed, watching TV, milling about, having conversations, etc., most commonly associated with what's called a residual haunting. There are also accounts of ghostly objects going back to the days of legends up through today. I don't know much about either though since I've never experienced them (I only have one personal ghost story and you've all already heard it haha!).

Wow, sounds like you spotted what's called a "shadow person". Again, I don't know much about them, but it could be interesting reading for you... if you're in the mood for it.

I'm not really a believer in ghosts or any paranormal activity, but there are some things that make you go hmmm….

My husband Gregory (aka Roo) and I have a photography business, and last September we were shooting a wedding reception at the old Opera House in Los Gatos. At the point where the bride and groom and the wedding party were arriving at the reception and about to be announced to the guests, Greg and I headed upstairs to the balcony overlooking the main banquet room to capture their entry from above. Neither Greg or I noticed anything out of the ordinary at the time, but after the event, as we were downloading the images of the day, there was something unusual. Every single image from the wedding party entry sequence shot from the balcony with my camera came out blurry. OK, so that can happen for one reason or another - operator error or camera malfunction, right? Now, Apple Aperture has a function that allows you to view the focus point pattern on any given image as they would be seen through the viewfinder of the camera. Upon review I noticed that this entire sequence of images had no focus points at all. NONE, zilch. I was taken aback by this, because normally it would be impossible to even activate the shutter if the camera is in AF mode and unable to focus on anything - yet I was able to snap away the whole time!

I sort of shrugged it off as a fluke, until we downloaded Greg's images, and noticed the same issue with his series of shots taken from the balcony. Again, all of them - without exception - blurred out, and displaying no focus points whatsoever in the editing software. Not a single image of the series taken from the balcony was useable. WTF??

What are the chances that the AF function on both our cameras would go completely out of whack for this short time period of perhaps 5 minutes, just in this one location? Everything that happened before and after this short incident was captured with no issue, and neither one of us has ever been able to reproduce this sort of malfunction since.

It wasn't until after this happened that I googled some info on the venue, and found several articles on the Opera House supposedly being haunted - particularly the balcony (even found a picture someone inadvertently captured of a hooded shadow figure standing on the balcony). Now, like I said, I'm not a believer in ghosts, and I certainly didn't notice anything out of the ordinary while I was up there - no creepy feeling, sudden drops in temperature, or whatever the paranormal investigation shows on TV will have you believe is a sure sign of ghostly activity, but to this day I have no rational way of explaining this strange, coincident equipment malfunction. We've been making jokes about this, telling people that the Opera House ghost messed with our cameras that day, but who knows?

I've never seen a ghost, nor do I believe in ghosts... I do however believe in the power of suggestion.

The human mind is so complex and we know so little about it that we like to explain the unknown by filling in the gaps with things that amuse or benefit us.

Science is also very new to us (in a scale of how new humans are to this planet) and there is still much to learn, so we can't rule out the fact that there could be an inter-dimensional interference pattern that could be causing it, as absurd as that sounds, think about how absurd a cell phone sounded to George Washington.
