Mainly I'm talking about the weather but it applies to a lot bouncing around in my head today.
Right now everyone is stoked about the weather. Going to the beach and what not. But I keep wondering when the pendulum is gonna swing. When are we gonna get hit with a few weeks or a month of gnarly rain and winds. Floods. Mud slides. Etc.
Think I should buy some new tires before it's too late.

Yeah. Just seems to me that we haven't had a true fall or winter.
This has to be the driest year I can remember in my life and I used to live in the desert. We gad a couple weeks of pretty gnarly cold but 75 degrees on christmas makes me go.... well... when's the **** gonna hit the fan?
My guess is soon and the whole world is gonna be tired of it in like 2 hours. LOL!. Man this weather sucks... when is the sun gonna come back... etc.
Any way you look at it.. we need it. And it's coming. Or we're all in deep crap and should invest in fake lawn stock.

we are 5-6 years in a drought. We had 1 year 2 years ago where we had decent rainfall, but came way late in winter/early spring.
Normal winter means weekly rain but we just haven't had that.
Next El Nino may be the like 98, and flood the central valley. But that's years away.

And yeah we're definitely in a long dry spell. The last 3 winters have been terrible. Specially the last 2. Enough that some resorts have threatened to not open... lack of funds. But this year has been even more abnormal. I don't remember more than a couple days of moisture at any point since maybe March of this year. It's got to be coming soon.
The last 2 years up at Bear Valley are the lowest 2 year totals of snow since 86/87. Generally speaking a big year is due.
average is around 360 inches. Last year was 203. Year before was 227. 90 inches of that in 1 month and I think 60 of it in 10 or 11 days.
If we get less than 375 inches this year we're in deep crap with water supply.

I'm scared. And it seems no one is tooting the "draught! Conserve water!" horn that loudly.
We know as people who keep up on such thing but the average joe is not even thinking about it.
