Anyone Else Know About a Local 11 Second STi?

I sure didn't know that there was an 11 second STi running around the Bay Area. Did you?

Here is my post from the sightings thread: https://www.i-club.com/forums/showpo...postcount=1278

I guess the one who had a 12.24 ET displayed on his car is in the 11's according to ferno....from his post it sounds like he knows them.

I may stand corrected.

Low 12's is fast. But 11's is incredibly fast. And the only way to legally get a 11 second timeslip at a real track is to install a cage in your car. (NHRA rules for 11.99 or quicker.)

If he is on the stock turbo he would need to be squirting to break into the 11's and even that is doubtful, I am assuming that becuase the car he supposidly raced was a 11's capable car beating it thus means he is a 11's car.

You should still get a slip for your pass if you break out of the 12's at the track they normally just ask you to leave after that pass.

I also believe that if he is stock, he must be spraying to get into the 11's, i am not sure about this but i have seen a few people at Infineon weds night drags break into 11's and not have a roll cage and they kept running, maybe its the next time you come up, but i am not sure...

No they are supposed to boot you off right there. This guy I know, his SS camaro went 12.2 at sac and they said if you go into the 11's we have to ask you to leave cause the roll cage he has in his car is bolted, not welded.

totally correct. In high school we got booted in a friend of mines nova for running 11.6 with no cage. My friends dad got booted for running an 11 in an old ford bucket...haaaa. Both cases we were expecting to get knocked.

Supposedly there is no tolerance for going that low without proper safety equipment. It would surprise me to see someone get by the officials breaking 12's and stay. but I'm sure it does happen from time to time.

Oh...and a stock turbo sti running 11's? That is impossible without juice. Well impossible to keep a motor in one piece for very long anyways.

yep, the most power Ive seen on the stock STi turbo was Godspeeds at 312whp on 93oct with full supporting mods(TBE, headers, APS FMIC, SUS, injectors, E-manage) the VF39 is smaller than a 30/34!

When I had A Buick GN that ran a sub 11.99 at Sac. they still handed me a time slip. It wasn/t untill I got back in line that they came and inspected my car for a cage, and kicked me out becasue I didn't have one. Well, actually they didn't even kick me out, they just wouldn't let me run anymore. So, if he really did run 11's he should have a slip. I guess Infineon could be more stirct than ghetto Sac. though. I agree with you Mike. I think that he probly beat a known 11 sec. car, and now claims his car can run 11s too. But we all know even the fastest cars can have bad days.
