My girl went to her parents and all of my friends went out of town, but I'm broke *** poor and wanted to work on Christmas... can't beat overtime time and a half, plus double time holiday pay!

 

My mom is a giant beesh, and rather than fight with her/ feel her wrath all week, I opted to not go home. Pretty bummed about not getting to see my friends or being able to ski right now
On the bright side: I am getting a bunch of things done down here that I would normally not get done because I'm either busy with school or in Truckee. That, and my friends are the GREATEST and have generously opened their homes to me when I'm ready to come up... and they have hot tubs

Yeah, I have a lot of friends who've opened their homes to me, but their families will be there, and I"d feel really weird crashing their family get-togethers

Yea, Im flying solo too. I got the days off but nowhere to go, my Dad lives out here in CA but we don't really see eye to eye. Everyone else lives in Oklahoma or still in the military. Im cooking on my smoker for myself, and that in itself is kinda depressing. But nothing a few beers won't make worse, LOL.

when that happens, i just think, "Holidays are overrated." though i think of that most of the time. it's just a scam to make people spend money.

 

Well, since I'm not going to go see my family until Sunday I decided I'm going to try to go Volunteer somewhere tomorrow for a while. Then I'll go hang out with friends later in the day.

seriously. im not gunna lie.... i sometimes hate christmas/holidays. my iphone broke the other day and i tried to go to the apple store to get a new phone. took forever to get parking, and forever to get rang up. cant even do simple crap w/o getting into traffic (cars or people)

Holidays are for kids/families...it's depressing when you're alone...it's depressing for me too, and especially all of the traffic...I was with a customer who is Jewish last night, we had to go to the store to get some networking equipment and the parking lot was jammed with cars and traffic. He looked at me and asked, why is all of this traffic here?

He was serious.

He also flys a lot for his company. He always flys on 12/25 because it's the cheapest air rates all year...he says it's always just a bunch of Jewish ppl...hahaha....

I wish I could drink sometimes...
