Well it sounds like things have lightened up a bit since I lived 'down south' I had a full hot rodded Saab Turbo with BLACK windows all around, you no see in (I also liked the 'herb' back then). Got ssssoooooooo many tickets. No problem in my case. Best friend had same car, same color same year. Get ticket, borrow friends car, put my plates on his car. Go to CHP office, officer goes to parking lot sees car, checks license plates ~ signs off ticket. Saved me $100 each time, because I didn't have to have it taken off, then put back on.
Now, I wouldn't suggest anyone else do this ***It's against the law!***
I will say this, not ONE city Cop, CHP or Sheriff ever got close enough to even look at the VIN#. Must have got 15 tickets handled this way in 3 years.

I have 20% on my fronts and 5% on the rear of my STI. It is really noticable since my car is white, but i have never been pulled over for them. I live two blocks from a police station too. lol.
I have 15% all the way around on my white RS, no tickets in 3 years
Of course, it is stock, has the front plate, etc. I'm sure if I had any noticeable mods, i'd have gotten pulled over already.

My friend got a ticket for having 35 or something.. that was light.. but what he did was sped up and cut infront of the cop.. to get on an on ramp..... not wise but the cop pulled him over and had to give him a ticket for something....
He got a fix it ticket but didn't fix it and just got a cop friend to write it off for him.
I won't say cops are ****** when they pull u over for these sort of things. They are just doing their jobs. It's actually pretty dangerous to have tint up front. At night it's sometimes hard to see a car right beside you if you have too dark of a tint.

Thanks for all the replies guys.
would it look weird to have no tints in the front and 40 for the back window and 30 for the rear?
anyone has done that? any pics?
