Anyone been scoping the Cobb 2.5L headers??(Dyno results in)

Any of you RS or Legacy people planning on getting these? They look pretty sweet to me:banana:

EDIT: This is not the final version, they still need to make some changes to the high flow cat but thats it.

The only problem with them is that they do not terminate in the stock location. So anyone planning to go turbo can't use them. That limits those of us who want to go turbo to TWE and Borla.

too expensive...why wont a vendor buy a copy and replicate it?

if i had contacts in machining stuff it seems like it would be a good business plan? and technically not illegal?

True.. I've only been considering them so I'll have something to hold me off until I get an engine/tranny swap after my EJ25 is toast.

You cant imitate quality. I wouldnt buy any cheap imitation of anything. If I get these headers, they will be from COBB with either a stage 2 or stage 3 engine kit. And eventually a stage 3 shortblock and heads.

i dunno that sounds like somethign we say to convince our selves to spend alot of money.

steel bending and production is not exactly 'rocket science' i dont see how it would be so difficult to make a GOOD cheap imitation of these headers.

I would have to see dyno charts from several cars that prove they are as good. COBB has spent so much time perfecting this design, that it would be real hard to convince me to spend money on an unproven imitation.

Agreed, I have been following the development of these headers and Cobb has put alot of time and effort into making it right.
I will purchase these with confidence.

There is one thing I have been thinking about. Stainless steel would look really good and would match the rest of the system. So you might want to consider a custom made set up. I doubt you would pay more than the cost of the Cobb ones.

I have them ordered, I'll let you know if I think it's worth the cost. They'll go on the day I get them.

by design, they are neat... but not worth that much money.

Hands down, MRT headers will make the most power, and are waaay cheaper...

But with MRT you have to buy the whole header back. Also, if you want something then their extremely restrictive axel back, you need to get it custom fitted.
