Anyone in the Bay ever go to The Tech Museum?

It looks like they have a website: www.thetech.com and I'm interested in purchasing a zen garden for my girlfriend as a Christmas present.

Having never heard of them, or this site before, I'm a little wary, so I thought I'd ask here. I did a search on the BBB and was only able to find information on the "Tech IMAX Theatre", which is at the same address listed on thetech.com website. That address is :

201 S. Market St
San Jose, CA

They appear to be in good standing with the BBB, but still.

Any help would be great

Thanks.

It's a large museum in downtown San Jose, mainly about how Silicon Valley developed over the years, there is also an IMAX screen there. Personally I'd feel pretty confident ordering something from them.

I've been there a few times, lots of cool tech stuff. The museum is set up more for teens and tweeners, but it's still fun to learn about silicon processing and such. It's a big museum kinda like the Exploratorium in the city. It's run by the city of San Jose I believe.
Are you just trying to buy something there? I think they have similar products from the discovery online stores (or in your nearest mall)

Well about two years ago I bought a zen garden as a gift for someone else, and I got it at the Discovery Store, but there were none in the mall tonight and none on the discovery store website. There's another discovery store here across town so maybe I'll look there.

My gf is just so hard to buy for, because most of the stuff she wants is stuff I want too that we don't have because we can't afford it. The only kind of jewelry she wants is a wedding ring , which falls under the above statement - and I'm not ready

Anybody have any suggestions maybe? She said she wanted a zen garden - she's big in to relaxing type products so she can use them at her job. She loves plants, but we have a ton. We already have two cats so I can't buy her an animal. Maybe I should just buy her some coil overs for a 2003 WRX..if she doesn't like em I'll keep em

Hell, I'll give you the I gave to my fiance last year! It's still sitting in the box for god sakes. Personally it was a waste, but I'm in the same boat as you when it comes to gifts. I don't know where you are at, but the Metreon Discovery store has mini zen gardens, like this:

Or you can get those coilovers

I think I might buy from that site. Thanks, man

I'm actually in Sac, but I'll be cruising through San Jose this weekend to pick up my freshly painted side skirts

Thanks
