Anyone in the Bay Area running JIC coilovers?
Hey BAIC,
Is there anyone in the area running JIC FLTA1 coilovers on their 06-07 STi? I am looking at picking up coilovers in the next week and its between the JIC's, Tein Flex (w/ pillowball), or the Tein MonoFlex.
Anyone have any recommendations? Every shop I've called has recommended a different setup.

ive had a few friends that have run JIC and they have nothing bad to say about them. ive heard the TEINS are good but tend to make alot of noise in the long run (thats just what I heard, i dont have experience with them) Im running STANCE coilovers myself and freakin love em!

It depends on what type of application. Tell us what you are going to do with your car and I'll see if I can point you in the general direction.
I have tein flex. It does make noises when going over bumps, shock compressing sounds I think. It's ok. It comes with front adjustable camber. I have it for about a year now and they make noises right after installation. Maybe the monoflex is better.
Other than that, I'm happy with mine. It's barely tolerable on the streets, a bit soft for the track. I guess that's why it's called flex. I think the tein flex helped me take about 2 secs off my lap times.

Daily driver, spirited mountain runs, track days, potential autox (not likely though). The most I want to spend right now is about $2000, but closer to the $1500 range is best.

The old Tein Flex make noise but from what i've heard the new ones no longer make any noise. I've been in a few cars with them and they ride well and offer alot of adjustment for a basic coilover. They also fall in to the price range that you are looking at. Subydude (wheeldude.com now) has the best prices on flex's locally
I've heard mixed reviews on the stance coilovers. some threads i've seen people love them and then others I've talked to said they were the worst coilover they've ever driven on. I've never drove a car with them so I can't comment. I've drove a few cars with the JIC FLTA2's and they felt alot stiffer than the Tein Flex. I'd say look into the Flex for a street/track driven car and maybe get the EDFC for easy adjustment.

Thanks Dan.
Another option I am looking into is getting a set of KYB AGX's and keeping my Cobb springs. Then with the rest of the money(tax returns woo!) getting my Accessport a tune, and some other random bits for the car.
I really can't decide what I want to do right now.
