Anybody use Stun guns?

Does anybody here use stun guns? I recently picked one up from my friend and these things are ridiculous. The one i have looks like a flashlight but doubles as a stun gun, hell its even rechargeable. I picked one up for my mom since she works late at night and we dont live in the greatest neighborhood. Do any of you guys carry one? I feel like this is my new EDC haha.

I don't trust stun guns.

The civilian models either require you to make physical contact with an attacker, or have a max projectile range of 10 feet.
At 10-feet, if someone rushing you they WILL get to you 100% of the time.

Police are trained to shoot people carrying knifes at 30 feet if they get agressive.

stun guns require you to be within arms reach of the attacker. In my honest opinion, you're better off getting a kimber pepperblaster II or something.

I carry the taser x26c model. C stands for civilian, it comes with 15' cartridges. LEO's carry a 25' cartridge. But most cops i've spoken with do come within 15-20'. They state anything farther than that, it's extremely hard to hit the target with both prongs.

I've personally attempted this in training at 21 feet. I managed to pull it off 1 time out of ~10 attempts. This after a day of training, and knowing exactly what was going to happen. No way in hell I could do it in real life.

I like the idea of tazers, but in practice they just don't seem that dependable

On the other hand, I've never known anyone who could stand up to a solid blast of police grade OC spray

I've been debating about purchasing the x26c for a very long time. The only thing that's stopping me from making the purchase is whether or not I can carry it with me at all time. I've found from multiple sites that I definitely can't carry it with me within federal buildings and places like an airport, for obvious reasons, but can anyone find a solid site that will tell me some more info on it

the tasers are very effective IF the darts land across a muscle group and theres at least 10" between them. ive rode the lightning a couple times. the worst was one probe on my shoulder blade and the other just under my ***.

tasers are legal in california to do open carry or conceal carry. I can dig up that info for you when i get home. biggest difference is that it is non-lethal.

Right, and that's what I've read but I just wanted to confirm.

Yes please, that would be very helpful. I've come across some sites where it mentions that I can do open or conceal, but I am limited to where I can take it with me. That's what I'm curious about as well.

you're much better off with some 15% OC spray.

I'd rather get shocked than maced, that's for sure.
