Question Anybody own a Pioneer Kuro 50" Plasma?

looking at this...

http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-KRP-50.../dp/B001PO5UAA

I found a place that has some in stock, but I just gotta confirm if they will ship it since they're not in CA.

Yes, I know there is no tuner & no built in speakers.

thoughts?

It's a SICK tv, but not worth the money anymore. Pioneer has already sold the Kuro tech to Panasonic, you can find it in any panasonic that has NeoPDP.

You want a TV JUST AS GOOD?

Get the new V series from Panasonic. You can buy a 58" V10 for $2700. It's all a Kuro is, and more, since it's final refresh rate can be set for 96Hz for 24p content. Kuros are 72hz for 24p.

If you want 2nd opinion, and I haven't read the atricle yet, I just know it's good, the 58" V is reviewed in the latest issue of Home Theater Magazine.

Both the standard Pioneer and the Elite uses the Kuro Panel
Panasonic's V10 also uses a version of the kuro panel but is still a dual layer PDP
you wont get the same contrast and there is no crystal emissive layer to prevent reflections
Buy the Elites now when you can, Pro-101 or pro-151 60" is probably the best tvs outhere

Right... They are the best TVs made to date really...

The shop has 4 left of the 500m kuro
$1800 + $147 shipping, no tax

looked at the v10 pannys and they're at least 2k for 50" & $2700 for 58"

I owned a 50" Kuro non-elite last year, and returned it, as I wanted a 60" elite, but did not have the money. I settled for a $900 Sony XBR 37" until I had the extra $$$ for the elite, but since then the economy has tanked, and my home theater cash gone with it. I will always wish I had been able to afford the elite last year. I do pray that Panny will make a set on par with the 9g Kuro Elite within the next year or so, and hopefully I can save enough.

On a side note Joltdude: what have you noticed/heard about the lifespan for the 9G's display brightness? I know it is a plasma thing, so I was wondering how slowly/quickly the 9G's have been losing their brightness over the past year or two of life.
