You are in the guard? So, is your unit deployed or are you coming back?

Sorry, never was in the guard, I don't know how it works exactly, just curious.

I'm in the AF over at Sheppard right now for tech school. I've got a month left to go with my tech school being 6months long split between 2 bases. I'm so ready to get out of here (those in the AF who have been through sheppard will know what I'm talking about lol.)

Sounds like your training is just as long as the AF's security forces being I think 18wks (SF is basically MP)

I'm not military, but one of my best friends trained @ Ft Leonard Wood. We came out to his graduation from there in '06. He just went back to Afghanistan for the 3rd time.

Im in and a 31B to boot. Too bad youre not in the reserves. There is a combat MP co right here in San Jo we have way more fun than the guard guys. Reserves=Federal=more money=more toys FTW. Sorry I bet youre tired of the guard jokes the DS were pretty mean to them when I was in Basic at Ft Mcclellan the true home of the MP Corps.

I'm not in the service, but I work extensively with the Army National Guard & Army Reserves and have been to many of their bases for pre-deployment training exercises.

National Guard gets federal $ as well, and your right about being treated poorly. Too bad too, because national guard guys are serving in harms way just like everyone else.

im a Navy veteran. served onboard the USS Okane out of Pearl Harbor and have been out for a little over 4 years now.
thanks for your service bro, its a questionable time for such a job but its the fact that you were willing to do it that matters. good luck out there and enjoy that tax free pay if u get deployed, your subie will love you for it

Anyone have good information on OTS? I got my degree and I have really been looking into the Airforce, my GF's father is a retired vet, still does the once a month, 2 weekends a year thing for reserves, but he isn't going to get called at his age. Really lookin' to join if this job offer doesn't follow through.

Why not? Use my degree for something. Higher pay as an officer. Plus I'm Fascinated with fighter jets.
