anybody have shipping deals?

Hey everyone,

I went to ship out my exhaust yesterday at UPS expecting to spend like 80-100 on shipping and they were going to charge me 151.08 to ship it out via UPS ground. I'm shipping the exhaust out to Roanoke, Virginia 24018. The box dimensions are 54 x 28 x 8 and it has a full hks TBE so like 30-40 pounds? I'm not sure, I didn't ask. When I take a break I'll go to my car and check the quote, I think the weight is on there.

I may say screw the box and bubble wrap the exhaust together and then cut up the box and wrap it around the exhaust if it saves me some $ on shipping.

Thanks.

bubble wrap it and then cut the box and wrap it with the box. see if that makes it cost less. i did that for some seats. i used rim boxes chopped up and taped together.

Try Greyhound or a freight company. Thanks to gas price gouging freight costs are sky rocketing.

I was looking at getting a motor shipped out from Texas and it was like $450. Couple years ago you could get complete cars shipped for that much.

if it's not time critical, go USPS Parcel Post; it can take up to 3 weeks, but it'll cost ~30bucks (axleback at least was around there, roof racks cost me ~20 from NY, NY to Hawaii fwiw

+1 on the Grayhound thing. UPS tends to be pretty spendy for heavy stuff.
You might also want to check with YRC Freight ( YRC Freight )

Give these guys a call for a quote. I used to goto a nearby UPS Store and thought I was getting a 'deal' since I often shipped with them. I was wrong, these guys gave me a better price. UPS' pricing is usually outrageous when you ship to middle of nowhere towns due to their gas surcharge and extra driving time to go that route.

Or go with Grey Hound if there's a station near the buyer.
