my wrx recieved a CEL yesterday after i drove in the rain. I went to MPJ and there CEL code reader is down, also went to Autozone and they dont check anymore. Im going to be int he Fremont/Hayward area today til 3pm...can anyone help me out....

did you try getting a free loaner from Autozone? I've been able to do that at least twice this past year from the Santa Clara location. They can't actually check it for you due to some California law or something, but they should offer you a free loaner for 10 days. They charge your card and then give you a full refund when you return it.

I have a cel code 1443...Evap....any ideas?...i filled the tank with gas early yesterday morning, maybe i didnt tighted the gas cap all the way...later that day the CEL light came on..hmmmm

 

Sounds like the same code I got when I was stock. Everyone thought I didn't tighten my gas cap all the way but it was really something else and also first appeared in the rain.

Not sure what you should do at this point, I was lucky I was still stock, because it was replaced under warranty.

i did some research on the Nasioc forums also, it looks like all the 2002 WRX owners have had this problem. Something to do with the valve seloniod...Also SOA knows about this issue and suggest sending them ur ECU and having it reflashed again..looks like i wont have my car for a while..I stopped by at Carslen aslo and the service manager told me the same thing..
