Tonight I head for Idaho so I can be there for the first Tarmac Rally in the western US;

It's going to happen sometime in August, and involve a Monte Carlo-style rally event.
Picture being given a map and a time, and the approximate location of a checkpoint....you decide what roads to take to get there. You only know you need to show up at EXACTLY the time given to cross the checkpoint.
If you pick the wrong route, and have to make up time...well, it's up to YOU how to make up time on the backroads. Points are given for EARLY or LATE, so make sure not to simply choose the shortest route.
Winner is the person who accumulates the least number of points.

How about heading out to Lake Berryessa some weekend. Went out there last weekend for the first time, great roads, not too busy and we can stop by the Lake chill have food and throw somebody in the lake... Anybody??

There will also be another timed stage (TSD) rally in the Santa Cruz area in October. Similar to the timed sections on the last Marin drive.

Berryessa is super awesome. I go there atleast once every two weeks because my gf loves the drove. Kevin, you're so close to it why don't you ever just take a solo drive? Same thing except no pressure to go fast.

I think you kind of missed the point. The whole idea of this thread was to toss the idea around about a possible event. Something with driving, relaxing, and food.
