hold alt and spell out the letters (e.g. 1800flowers will appear in the dial string box) - the device will figure out the appropriate numerals.

Picked two up yesterday, man o man are these things the ****! Soooo awesome. I've been playing around with the map app, as well as entering in all of my contact and stuff. It took a few minutes to learn the keyboard, but now that I know it, it's smooth sailing. It guesses what word you are trying to type very well. Much better than most of the other phones I've had, it seems as though this one has a sense of grammar as well as spelling, whereas my old one used to if no matter what word came bhind it, and I'd have to changed to he, this one sense the previous word.
But yeah, lotsa cool features, I'd definately recommend it to anyone. As far as the screen goes, I've checked it out and it seems pretty resiliant to me, only time will tell if it cracks though. Only thing is...Cingular doesn't have insurance on their PDAs.....)=

Was a nextel customer and switched to sprint and having nextel was glad of warrenty then as well. Had to use it a couple of times but hope I won't have to with this one heh. So far our phones turned out to be very durable phones

yeah, only reason i switched from Verizon to Cingular was because Cingular gives me a 25% discount on my monthly bill because of a corporate discount!
only one gripe on the phone. last year cingular launched 3G (UMTS) and alot of the phones out now are taking advantave of faster web speeds. now they release a data centric device and leave out the key component to makeing it a great phone. the fastest speed you will get with this phone is 40kbps where as if it where UMTS you would be getting closer to 400+kbps
just get the 3G blackjack... yeah the battery sucks but i think they give you 2 of them dont they?

I like mine. Have t-mobile. The 2-letter keys work pretty well. It learns what you type pretty quickly. (Actually searches your emails for commonly used words).
I also like the screen and the fact that it is one of the first Bberries that can be used as both a phone and a PDA effectively.
