Any dirt roads south of San Fransisco?

I was wondering if there are any public access dirt roads in the southern part of San Fransisco. Such as areas in Redwood city, Mountain view, and santa clara. Just looking to do some light offroading for fun

Thanks!

None that I know of in any of those cities. They're all too highly populated. Maybe if you go closer to the coast or north of SF though...

OP, short answer is no. WAAAY too populated. Even when you go south of south bay, all the fireroads are fenced closed. You have to go down to central California before you find anything... or way north, like Mendicino.

I'm up for a meet... once I sort out my Subie's issues.

You could try the local national forests. I tried to find dirt roads outside the parks and forests and to no avail... nothing

The closest I could find to "off-roading" was a little muddy patch at the county line of California State Route 35 (Skyline Blvd)

A bunch from Dirty Impreza checked out Hollister Hills OHV and it seemed way too rough for our cars.

How did you guys meet there?

We should do a long weekend and camp. Can everyone take a Friday or Monday off work maybe in the spring when it gets a little warmer. My cousins took me to a spot I think it was the south fork of the American river. It was about 3 miles on a fire road an then there was a big bridge crossing over the river. Jumping off the bridge was tight and there was room to park and camp. The e road went further but we turned back.

Stupidchicken get in this thread please.
