ouch, sorry to hear about it but everyone knows not to try to drift around roads. i read a bunch of threads here and over at nasioc where people try to drift their cars because it's raining or snowing. sometimes i kind of have the urge to see how the car can handle and when it'll actually break traction but try to resist because this will happen.

yea..well i threw in the drift line because that's what it looked like. my intentions were to push the car to cornering limits, get the car to breakout a bit and correct it.

i just wasn't thinking. aRrghh. ahh well, an expensive lesson learned.

Wow....180 happend to me before in Reno, the only difference is I spin into a snow bank.

and today I was taking a joy ride on highway 1 near Stinson beach...it was raining, foggy, huge puddles, and some rocks/muds (from land slides). Since I still have stock summer tires on my STi, I didn't push it too hard.

Unless you are an experienced mechanic i would not try to fix it myself. There could be something else wrong with the car that you missed

He has an STi, so I think he already got rid of his stock ones for a purpose. Just throwing that out there.

tough luck bro

first off, people are going to flame you for foolin around on public roads even though it was in an industrial area on Christmas, blah blah blah,

Well, just dont do it again, now that thats outta the way, if it were me personally, I would take it to gruppe-s and replace the front control arm(can probably find a take-off one, look around the classifieds) and get a set of whiteline rear arms, I would even weld in new hardened washer over the tear in the teins to fix those right up. get whatevers bent replaced then get it down to an alignment rackand as long as they cane get everything back into spec then your good to go, for likely less than 1K

If you take it to a body shop guess what they will do? The exact same thing, only they will use new OE parts and charge your insurance company full dealership retail price and 20+ hours labor, Im sure your premiums on an STI are high enough, I know!

Wow, crappy deal man.

I nearly had the same consequences when I tried to make a yellow light and some grandma in an 80's Corolla decided to take up both lanes after the turn and slam on her brakes. Honestly, this thread was the first thing to flash in my head.
