I see this all to often or like others said with kids not even in a seat or a seat belt. Or you count more kids coming out of the car than there are seats.. Just makes me sick people like these can have kids where as I can't..

Yeah, I think it is something like 50 pounds. I'm not sure what else goes into deeming a car seat in the front unsafe besides the airbag though.

I think just frontal impact in general. And figure a 10 pound baby, in a 20 pound car seat. That airbag sensor is activated. And yea, those car seats aren't light. Besides the fact that the anchors for a more secure, properly fitted car seat, are in the back seat. Using a seat belt is not the most secure method now that all cars come with seat anchors.

This is probably one of those parents who doesn't like to hear their baby cry at all so instead of pulling over to take care of their crying child, they are stupid and risk their child's life by putting them in the front seat for their convience.

Yep, regardless if the airbag was turned off or not, it's not safe to have a ****ing god damn baby in the front seat! What happens when you get into a head on collision?! All sorts of bad **** can happen.

That looks like a Mazda3. In my last car, an 04 Mazda3 hatch, the sensor would only turn off if the weight was not balanced. I don't remember the exact weight either. Sometimes my lady would sit funny in the seat and the airbag light would come on saying it's off. I'm guessing a baby seat would trigger the airbag to shut off as well.

Either way, that's still a no no. I would never put a baby in the front seat. Airbags on or off, it doesn't matter.
