another enzo gone....
And I know this guy- his car is (well, I guess was) the one all the magazines (road and track, car and driver etc.) tested.
He ran in the Ferrari Challenge Rally and won this last May.

Glad to hear that he's going to be OK, apart from some broken bones....
"From the horses mouth - Richard was going close to 200mph, and hit a bump in the road that sent him airborne. The car rolled 7 times and was flat as a pancake. Fortunetly he was wearing a helmet. He has cracked vertebrae in his neck and back, 4 broken ribs, broken sternum, some broken fingers, and the only surgery he made need is on his thumb. Nothing life threatening. He is refusing pain medication because he thinks he needs to be punished!"

If you're too shy, or too embarrassed for slamming this person who was supporting a charitable cause, and driving that car the way it was meant to be driven, then simply visit: www.openroadracing.com .

I think Neil knows about open road racing and all that, the smiley is a hint.
And yes it was sanctioned and legal, although from what I've heard it was nowhere near as strictly safety oriented as the Silver State and USAS events are.
Richard is actually a nice guy (sometimes a bit "type-A" I'll admit) who happens to love driving his Enzo- it had some 30,000+ miles on it, and he would take it out for every rally and charity event he knew of.
Last month in Road and Track he posted an article with a picture of the dash read-out showing 218MPH.
