Angel Island or Sausalito for a day. Which would you do?

So I'll be visiting some friends for the weekend and they wanted to know where I'd like to go on Saturday for the majority of the day.

I've never been to either. I'm currently on google trying to find out what the buzz is about at both places.

I'm just about open to anything as long as it doesn't involve sex with old ladies and bear traps.

So I ask you, where should I go?!

Not much to do in Sausalito besides go for a walk and check out some shops. Not sure about angel island.

I went to Angel Island last week with my son, it was a really good experience. I was surprised by how badly people were being treated that were immigrating into the United States.

Shopping is not really my thing. I'll have the camera with me so scenery is good but for an all day thing photo's might not be enough...

Is this a history of the bay area type thing? Or you witnessed people being jack***es to immigrants?

Angel Island if you like historical stuff and equally good views as Sausalito. If you're left with more time afterward, Marin Brewing Company is nearby in Larkspur.

Local Brew?! It's settled then. I was reading up on AI and the history aspect is huge for me. The more I can learn the better

IMHO, skip both and spend a day in Muir Woods. Pack a bag lunch to eat when you get far enough in, finish up, and hike back out.

I love Muir woods! I used to live near there and we'd hike it as kids good times. I'd definitely choose there but the rest of the group narrowed it down to AI or Sausalito for me to choose. I'm pretty sure, from what they've been talking about we're doing Angel Island.
