American LeMans @ Laguna Seca 2008 (pics)

As usual, had a great time even though there were too many full course yellows.

Lots to shoot, also this was my first try at panning shots. I studied and asked folks on the "how to" the week before on different forums. Gathered some starter settings. Here is the results, hope you like'em

Sweet, Thanks Dudes for the encouragement! I really enjoyed the process of taking the different kinds of shots. Learning a ton!

R-Dub - I'm on a Canon XSi, most shoots are with a 70-300mm EF IS lens.

Hatteroo & JZ oo7 - Totally Random, just chillin eatin my chicken sandwich, and Tiff just sits at the table with a bunch of kids, a driver, some woman, and a small camera crew. Then everyone takes off except Tiff. Just Chillin by himself for a bit. Slowly people start to come up to him, so eventually I did too. It was pretty cool, cause no one really bombarded him. Not sure if he was driving, or was there for fun!

MyNikonLens - No Media pass, and I was all over the track scouting for a decent place to shoot. I sample many spots , but turn 9 & 10 seem to be a money spot for me.

i actually feel that it's not really necessary to have a media pass to shoot at laguna. the fences aren't that high. if you're over 5' 9" you're pretty much looking over the fence already. turns 9 & 10 is where i like to shoot as well because you are right there panning with them. the corkscrew is the only place where i feel would be nice to have access, but then you are kinda stuck there once you're there.

was tiff a nice guy? he seems like one. if i was there, i probably would've been wearing my, "I AM THE STIG" t-shirt. if i was, i would walk up to him and say, "i'm not, but i know you are."

Nice shots!!! What shutter speed were you using on the pans if you don't mind? I seemed to catch the wheels stopped last time and yours look so much better. Really nice work!
