I drive extra mellow around my hood. Mainly for the kids. When I was 9 or 10 I saw a boy run down 2 little kids a week after he bought his crustang. They didn't die, but got jacked up real bad. The boy killed himself later that year.

I try to keep my speed sensible in residential areas. People definitely appreciate this. I was riding my motorcycle up Pescadero Rd at a pretty good rate. As I entered Lomar Mar, I backed it down to the 30 limit. As I came around a corner I saw a group of families ahead at the roadside so I dropped it down to 15-20ish as I went past their kids. Three of the adults gave a thumbs up and mouthed "thank-you". I figure this makes for happier residents who will give less grief to the CHP about obnoxious m/c riders.

At home, I'm careful of noise because my neighbour's bedroom is on the same wall as my driveway. If I get back after 11pm, I leave the car down the drive. Similarly, if I'm on my motorcycle, I walk it in if it is late.

Consideration for my neighbors is one of the reasons I swapped from my old "louder" Borla to the Borla Hush on my WRX. Since my "driveway" is a very small street shared by 14 townhouses, needless to say I keep it under 10 MPH right there.

My Impala SS is way louder , but it is pretty rare that I am coming or going late at night in that car....

Like I said....she's cool. <shrug> But I always cruise down my street at about 15mph, Its just respectful, and yes everyone appreciates it, but my car is still loud even when I am babying it, I just do my best to keep it as quiet as possible....Although there are a few ppl that I wanna put a tack strip out for, but they are mostly ppl that dont live on my street.

Ditto here. Too many kids playing around and riding their bikes. LOL my neighbors even have orange cones and a sign that says children playing. And yes I also have a neighbor that he is a CHP officer. He is very very cool and not power hungry at all. I wish all CHP guys had his attitude.

Cheers

Nick

on my block at different times in the day youll hear these different vehicles:
-my car(decently loud)
-friends ramair firebird with the pipe cut after midpipe or something like that(loud!)
-friends camaro SS(even louder >_>)
-across the street is my other friends tt 350z(decently loud)
-this one riced out mr-s across the street(decently loud)

nobody complains... because as much "beats" as the cars above have, none of them can top the mexicans that like to cruise down our street at 1mph, BUMPING loud *** mexican music in thier car!

i dont care what my neighbors think. i come home at odd hours too.and I leave early in the morning for work. hopefully i wake all of them up ( even though i don't go past 3Krpm) till my engine is warm.

if people are yelling at me to slow down even though im driving 30-35ish on my street, i just flip them off and rev to show my defiance.

yes karma will kick me in the ***. but i'll worry about it when it happens.
