Alonso given 2 second qualifying penalty

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/moto...ne/5237288.stm

"Renault's Fernando Alonso will struggle to make the top 10 on the grid for the Hungarian Grand Prix after picking up a two-second qualifying penalty.

Alonso was punished for a deliberate brake test and for overtaking under a flag in Friday's second practice."

This is playing straight into Schumachers hands...he's closed the gap to 11 points, now he'll close it even further at the Hungaroring...notoriously difficult to overtake on.

This is looking like being a great climax to the season.....who said F1 was boring?

From a macro level, F1 is very exciting and interesting. From a micro level (i.e. the race itself), it's about like watching paint dry. The only worthwhile parts of the TV coverage are the on-board shots.

Open wheel racing in general is boring. I prefer GT/Touring/ALMS, not so much for the familiar bodywork, but for the constant action. Even passing cars in a different class is fun to watch.

NASCAR is the best. Ricky Bobby is my favorite driver.

if schumacher is 1 point ahead of alonso for the championship going into brazil, we'll see both of them DNF for that GP. LOL

quoted for troof.

Micheal is ruthless. He'd have no problems taking both himself and Fredo out on lap 1, turn 1 - if it would seal the championship for him.

I can't believe the stewards f*cked up Alonso's entire race because of that stupid incident. I just watched it and it's BS. Ferrari have the stewards and investigators in their pockets.

Alonso is doing more and more fist-waving these days...he's turning into a proper little prima-donna.

Not sure if you remember Monte Carlo, but when Schumacher blocked that turn whether intentional or not, Renault cried until they got their way. I have never liked Alonso as a person, but he is a decent driver with a good team behind him.

When will the 2 second penalty be applied?
It'd be funny if they make it so he can't even move out of the first heat.

Schumaker qualified pretty low so it's going to be an interesting race tomorrow.

MS still have 4 grid spots on Alonso. At this point as long as he gets the 2 points over Alonso per race he's set. Hope he runs deep tomorrow.
