NYC to HI to... walnut creek???

i guess it depends on what you guys are looking for. if its the uber suburbs with soccer mom yuppies driving their oversized hummers/suburbans and hanging out at starbucks... then you'll love it in walnut creek.

the weather is good out here.

i say live in the city.

the weather here in the bay is really nice. walnut creek is located in the "inland" of the bay so the weather is nice and warm, something that HI is known for... warm weather. now thats its summer time, its going to be really nice.

i dont know too much of the walnut creek area, but i do know they have a nice downtown spot over there. ive been there once and i cant remember the name of the place. im pretty sure theres a few ppl here that know more about the area than i do.

anyways, hope you enjoy yourself here in the bay and hopefully well see ya at some of the meets.

thanks. i've been chilling with Choku Dori(Ryan) while he's on vacation out here. he told me you guys have meets in Daly City on friday nights. when my car lands in Oakland, i'll swing by a meet.

the wife will be working at the hospital in Walnut Creek, so to keep the commut quick we figured we'ed just get someplace close. on the other hand we wonder if we'll regret being outside of the city.

i hear you about the commuting thing though. what do you value more? lifestyle or convenience. i personally couldnt survive the mundanity

we like being in the city areas just because then we''ed be closer to stuff. but after living in nyc and honolulu, i almost look forward to living somewhere where i can change my own oil. but good point, maybe it'll be TOO quiet...

i'm down for all meets i used to drive from nyc to nj for their wednesday night meets.

I think you'll like Walnut Creek. Its very much suburbia, nice n clean but not nearly as fun as the city. Weather is very much like L.A. but a tad cooler.

My sister used to live in Alamo, which is right next to Walnut Creek. She worked at Mt. Diablo hospital in Concord but no longer does.

You have a home and a means of financing? I assume you're in escrow with financing already set-up. If not, PM me if you'd like.

Enjoy your stay in Ca.

I'm in walnut creek too... do you know which part your moving to?

well.....

1. for your wife, downtown Walnut Creek is like shopping heaven

2. Its crowded here.... but I guess the whole Bay Area is crouded

3. Weather is awesome... have you been to california before? only bad thing i can think of is earth quakes but thats not vert often and if any its not serious

4. which hospital you workin' at? John Muir or Kaiser (sp)... some of my friends mom's work at those hospitals and they both are close to down town Walnut Creek

5. Walnut creek is a chill place... Downtown is like a city in it's own these days... everything is nice and clean and people are friendly... I think you'll like it

I live in danville buti frequent WC often. In the summer, beware, it gets toasty. to me its unbearably hot, but im a winter guy. Downtown has cleaned up a bit as ppl have mentioned. They even have a Tiffany's in downtown, so you can see how much their trying to upscale that shopping area. The people are nice, cept for this one punk *** kid who tried to pick a fight with me one night out of nowhere. But housing is expensive since its such a dense area.

go suburbia!
